About Lions Eye Clinic

Since 1925, 44,772 Lions Clubs in 186 countries have aided the cause of the blind and visually handicapped. Lions International has devoted time and funding for people who are in need of eye care, but lack the funds for such care. These efforts have made Lions International the largest service organization in the world.

In 1970, the International Association of Lions Clubs approved a Lions Eye Clinic for Cleveland, Ohio, located at St. Vincent Charity Hospital. We are one of only seven in the country. The 43 Lions Clubs of Northeast Ohio (District 13-C) have undertaken permanent support of this project. The Lions Eye Clinic has treated more than 100,000 people since its opening in 1970.

Both Lions International and St. Vincent Charity Hospital are proud to support the services offered through the Lions Eye Clinic. Assistance provided by individuals, corporations and northeast Ohio Lions Clubs is appreciated in support of this worthwhile project.

Sophisticated Medical Technology

The Lions Eye Clinic at St. Vincent Charity Hospital provides a complete range of services including:

Examinations for glasses
Dispensing and fitting of glasses
Diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases with available special procedures such as angiography and laser treatment
Surgery for cataracts, glaucoma, detached retina and other eye problems

Our facilities encompass a comprehensive array of sophisticated equipment including:

Four fully equipped examination rooms
YAG laser
Argon-Krypton laser
Flurocein Angiography
2001 ISL Laser

Expertise of the Caregivers

The Ophthalmologists at the Lions Eye Clinic are Board Certified and skilled in the most advanced treatment techniques available. They have expertise in a wide range of eye disorders.
