DG Lion Mary Chentnik became a member of the Cleveland Host Lions Club in August 1999.  Since joining she served as Club President in 2008-2009 and Club Secretary in 2003-2008 and 2009 to the present.  Lion Mary received the 100% Secretary’s Award and was named the first “Inspiring Lion” for District 13-C in August of 2004. 

Lion Mary served as Vice Zone Chair in 2006-2007 and Zone Chair in 2007-2008.   She was Cabinet Secretary for PDG Maggie Dellmore in 2007-2008 and for PDG Dona Klages in 2008-2009.  She is also a Melvin Jones Fellow and received the Ohio Lions Council Chairman’s Award of Excellence 2007-2008. 

She was born and grew-up in Batavia, NY and is a graduate of Alfred State College and the Rochester Institute of Technology.  Lion Mary also graduated from Cleveland-Marshall School of Law in 1997.  She moved to the Cleveland area in November of 1992 and has been working at Grace Hospital as an Administrator since moving to the area. 

Lion Mary has been married to Joe since 2003.  She has three grown children, Amanda, Heidi and Garrett, all living in upstate New York.  Lion Mary and Joe live in Westlake with their two Havanese dogs, Bella and Lola.

Lion Dan Lester has had perfect attendance since becoming a member of the North Royalton Lions Club in 1994.  Lion Dan has served as Director multiple times and has been club President twice.  He has also chaired every fund raising and community projects committee at the club level. 

At the sub-district level, Lion Dan has held the position of zone chair from 2002 through 2006.  In 2002 he designed and published the District 13-C website and maintained it through June 2011.  Lion Dan also established and maintains the district 13C email.  He has served as Ohio Lion Foundation Trustee since 2004 and is currently the Foundation’s Treasurer. 

 Lion Dan has been awarded three (3) International President’s Certificates of Appreciation, two (2) Council of Governor’s Awards and has been named Lion of the Year twice by his club.

Lion Dan has been married to PDG Lion Carol since 1987.  He has a son, Jim and daughter-in-law, Patsy.  His hobbies include his dog Wyatt, golf and gardening and........... 

Lion Dan is a collector of all things M & M.

 

2nd VICE GOVERNOR:

Lion Wallie joined the Willoughby Hills Lions in 1994 and transferred to North Coast Lions Club in 2002.  During her 17 Lion years, she has served as President, Secretary, Membership Director other Board positions; as well as, various Fundraising/Service Committees.  

Lion Wallie served as Zone 2 Chair for four years; District Membership Chair/State Membership Committee for five years; developed and facilitated seminars for the Leadership Committee; and assisted the Extension Team.  She represented Zone 1 on the G.A.L.E.P Board and is a loyal supporter of the Lions Eye Clinic at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center.  Lion Wallie was recognized as Inspiring Lion and is continually recognized for her leadership qualities and her service to the District and her community.  

Lion Wallie earned a B.A. in Business Administration and a State of Ohio Teaching Certificate in Business Education.  She also earned her Vocational Certificate from Kent State University.  She spent 20+ years as a substitute teacher, as well as, teaching community education and tutoring. 

 

Lions Dave and Wallie will be married 43 years in August.  They have three daughters (2 are Lions) & four grandchildren.  They enjoy retirement by pulling their “condo on wheels” to Florida & to Ohio campgrounds in the summer.

Lion Marty is a 30-year member with perfect attendance. She was originally a Lioness member with the chartered Munroe Falls Lioness Club in 1983, and is now a Lion member with the Stow-Munroe Falls Lions Club.  She served as the Lioness District 13-C President in 1985-86, most offices within both Lions clubs, and has been a part of the District 13-C Lions Cabinet since 1992.  Her positions on the cabinet have been as a Zone Chairman for three different District Governors, as the district's Public Relations Representative, and the State Leadership & Development Representative. She was Governor for the 2010-2011 year.
 
She has received 4 International President's Certificates of Appreciation, two District Governor's Awards, and is a Melvin Jones Fellow along with her husband, Lion Rich.
 
Lion Marty graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School and has an Associates Degree in Communication from the University of Akron.  She retired in 2006 from Summit County Children Services as an Administrative Manager within their Community Relations Department.  Lion Rich retired in 2006 as an Office Furniture Sales Executive. 
 
Lion Marty and Lion Rich have been married for 41 years and have two married daughters (one in Stow, Ohio with two grandchildren and the other in Denver, Colorado), and a married son who lives in Portland, Oregon.  They are members of the Northcoast Miata Club; enjoy traveling, their two dogs (Snowie and Maggie), retirement, and serving the Lions of Ohio.
